The hallmark of Curitiba

The monument was once the most votes in an election for the choice of the Seven Wonders of Brazil


Located in Curitiba, Paraná, southern Brazil, Curitiba Botanical Garden, or Botanical Garden  Maria Francisca Garfunkel Rischbieter, is one of the landmarks of the city. The name is a tribute to the town planner who was a pioneer in urban planning of Curitiba.

Inaugurated on October 5, 1991, the garden has countless species of Brazil and the world scattered iron and glass greenhouses. The main one was inspired by the Crystal Palace in London. The greenhouse is heated and keeps Atlantic Forest species.

Inside the Botanical Garden is located Garden Sensations. There are 200 meters of track where visitors have contact with texture, shape and smells of flowers. The route can also be done blindfolded.
