The beauty of Angra dos Reis
Located in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Angra dos Reis is a Brazilian city founded in 1502. The island completed 510 years in 2012. The city draws attention for its natural beauty and attracts thousands of tourists. Its coastline has 365 islands and its area of 816.3 km ².
Angra dos Reis has a rich heritage with many buildings tumbled by IPHAN. Its architectural ensemble consists of the House of Culture of Brazil Poet Kings, the church of Santa Luzia and the church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, as well as the ruins of the convent of St. Bernardine of Siena and the Carmelite convent of Angra dos Reis.
The origin of the name is due to its discoverers have arrived in the region Kings Day, January 6, 1502.
